Teleporting reporters and footballers from Champions League stadiums into the CANAL Champions Club studio, live and life-size.

CANAL+, the French premium television channel, deployed the Holobox in its studio to bring journalists, and footballers, from stadiums around Europe into the CANAL Champions Club as life-size, real-time 3D holograms, during its live UEFA Champions League coverage (rights secured 2024 to 2027, airing several times a week).
A simple studio setup at the stadium captures the reporter or player; the Holobox renders them life-size and live in the studio, where the host and guests interact with the hologram in real time, as if they were around the desk.
The Holobox stands over two metres tall, delivers a 4K holographic image, and is plug-and-play: it needs only power and an internet connection, so the studio can bring in live holograms from any stadium without complex infrastructure. The result is real immersion inside a live broadcast.
"The Champions League is about exceptional performance at the highest level and CANAL+ has created a format that captures that spirit perfectly," said Holoconnects co-founder Andre Smith when the deployment was announced in April 2025. "We are thrilled that we can help make the thoughtful discussion in the studio more engaging and fun for the audience."
“The Holobox allows us to insert a journalist on the set via a live hologram. By inserting our field staff into the discussion at the studio as if they were around us, we are creating real immersion which enriches the vision of CANAL Champions Club.”
