In 2022 hologram content required studio capture. In 2026, mobile capture rigs deploy to the customer's location, an unlock that changed who could get holographed.

In 2022, hologram content production required the talent to travel to a fixed studio. That meant the Culemborg studio for Holoconnects. Multi angle capture, calibrated lighting, and controlled backdrop can be replicated on location, but the operational overhead was significant enough that studio-only was the practical default.
The result was a filter on who could get holographed. Talent who couldn't clear their calendar for a Netherlands trip were effectively excluded from hologram deployment. The medium was gated by the talent's travel availability, not by the customer's willingness to commit.
By 2026, the mobile capture rig has evolved into a reproducible on-location deployment. The rig ships to the customer's location, office, hospital, government building, event venue, and captures the talent there.
That changed the customer universe. Enterprise talent that would never have travelled to Culemborg can now be captured in the corner of their office.
Not all content moved to mobile. Two categories still favour the fixed studio.
Full-length keynote content with multiple takes benefits from the controlled studio lighting and sound. Rush setups on location can achieve acceptable quality but the ceiling is lower than a studio session.
Custom AI Hologram character deployments requiring extensive character-training footage still prefer studio capture. Studio conditions produce the consistency the AI training pipeline needs.
For enterprise buyers evaluating hologram deployment: if your intended talent can't or won't travel, the mobile rig removes that barrier. Talent scheduling logistics improve; the deployment timeline typically extends by 1-2 weeks for the mobile rig deployment scope.
Practically: a session is scoped, a mobile rig ships, the shoot happens on-location, and the captured content flows into the same processing pipeline as a studio session.
