Before you buy a Holobox: the six questions buyers ask

How long do delivery and installation take?

Holoconnects typically delivers hardware in 3 to 7 weeks, depending on the model and configuration. Content production takes 1 to 4 weeks. Projects where we deliver both run 4 to 8 weeks end to end, because content is produced while the hardware is built. Installation on site takes about an hour: the Holobox ships in one crate. Intercontinental deliveries add roughly 2 to 3 weeks for customs and freight. The lead time is confirmed when the quote is signed.

What do I need to bring, and which formats?

With Holoconnects, you bring the talent or product, the message and the creative direction. We capture the content at our Recording Station in Culemborg, or with a mobile capture rig at your location, and prepare it for playback. Content is shot against a white backdrop in 4K. Videos are exported as MP4 in H.264 or H.265, at 3840 x 2160 and 25 or 50 frames per second, and played from a USB drive in the back of the Holobox. 3D models and product designs can be shown on a Holobox. Standard phone or camera video plays but looks flat, because the effect needs multi-angle capture against a controlled backdrop. If you already have footage, send a sample to a project manager and we tell you whether it works.

Can it be shipped abroad, and who installs it?

Holoconnects delivers internationally. In the Netherlands, transport and installation is a flat EUR 750 within 100 km each way, then EUR 1.80 per extra kilometre. Outside the Netherlands, transport and installation are priced on request. Installation is done by Holoconnects staff or by a regional partner. Move a Holobox only in its flight case, because moving it without one voids the warranty.

Hardware prices exclude delivery, installation and content. A quote lists delivery, installation and on-site support as separate lines, priced per site.

What does support and maintenance include?

Holoconnects standard support is included with the IRIS OS licence and responds within 48 hours. Software updates are installed automatically overnight, in the time zone of the location where the Holobox stands. The warranty is 12 months after delivery, and a longer warranty can be agreed. An extended warranty of one or two years is available as an add-on, priced per model. Repairs by anyone other than a certified Holoconnects technician void the warranty. What is included in the price, and what recurs?

The Holoconnects Holobox list prices are from EUR 4,500 (The 22), EUR 9,000 (The 43), EUR 18,500 (The 75) and EUR 25,000 (The 86), excluding VAT, for the hardware. The IRIS OS licence is optional, and we recommend it. IRIS OS is the software that makes a Holobox a unit you can use for many purposes. You build interactive layouts and multilingual content, publish them to every location and manage all your boxes, experiences and updates from one browser. The same Holobox can switch between pre-recorded content, a live person and an AI agent, without replacing the installation.

The licence is charged per box per year: EUR 3,500 for a one-year term, EUR 3,000 per year for two years and EUR 2,500 per year for three years or more, the same for every size. Standard support and overnight updates are included. Optional live-stream software for a two-way studio is EUR 1,750, 1,500 or 1,250 per box per year by the same terms. The one-time studio set-up is EUR 5,000 (basic) or EUR 6,500 (plus, with a studio flight case). The AI Hologram software layer is from EUR 2,500. Delivery, installation and content are quoted separately. A quote is valid for 30 days.

Can I run several boxes, work with partners or resell?

With Holoconnects, one origin Holobox can broadcast to several destination Holoboxes at once. One IRIS OS account manages an unlimited number of Holoboxes. Distributors and resellers manage their own fleet of customers and boxes in IRIS OS. When a reseller or distributor sells a box to a customer, a new licence is created for that box, and the customer pays Holoconnects for it. Once a Holobox is paid in full, you can resell it to another company. The licence moves with the box to the new owner, who pays the remaining term.
