A digital human kiosk, as Holoconnects builds it on the Holobox, is an AI human at your front desk or entrance that greets visitors, answers their questions in their own language and hands over to a real colleague when a person is needed. No headset, no glasses, no app: anyone walking past sees and hears it. Below: the three kinds of kiosk sold under this name, what it does at a desk, where it already runs, and what it costs.
Three kinds of kiosk are sold as a “digital human kiosk”
In a brochure they look alike. At a desk they are different products.
- A touchscreen kiosk with a face. A monitor or tablet in a stand shows an animated face that talks back. It is software on an ordinary screen, and the visitor looks at a picture of a person.
- A countertop unit with depth. The 22 sits on a reception counter and shows the AI human at a smaller size, with real optical depth, for desks where floor space is tight.
- A life-size unit. The 86 shows the AI human at full height, 2.06 m tall. Visitors walk up to someone standing there. The 75 is the step down for a smaller lobby.
All three can hold the same conversation. Only the last two give the AI human a presence in the room. The optics behind that are in how a Holobox works.
What it does at a front desk
- Greets and answers in the visitor’s language, switching per visitor.
- Answers questions about your building, opening times and directions, from the knowledge you approve.
- Checks guests in when it is connected to the property management system.
- Hands over to a live colleague on the same screen when a visitor needs a person, so nobody is sent somewhere else.
- Covers the hours outside staffed shifts, while staff handle exceptions and anything that needs judgement.
Holoconnects sets each AI human up for one job. Four are ready: a clinic host, a lobby host, a hotel receptionist and a retail product expert. See them on the AI Hologram page.
Where it already runs
- At Aiden by Best Western, Holoconnects deployed holographic AI check-in with Mews as the property management system, so the AI human completes the check-in itself.
- For Capgemini in Abu Dhabi, Holoconnects put Fatima in a Holobox: an AI guide to government services that answered visitors in Arabic and English.
- The hotel rollout with CIC Hospitality is planned for 30 hotels in Scandinavia, with 9 live today.
Holoconnects has built hologram displays since 2020, with 470+ projects in 30+ countries.
What a digital human kiosk costs
Two things set the price: the display and the AI layer.
- The 22 on a counter, the entry model.
- The 86 at life size.
- The AI layer on top of the display.
The price of a specific AI human depends on the job it does and the systems it connects to, and is quoted per project. Delivery, installation, content and system connections are separate lines in the quote. Current prices for every model and the AI layer are on the price list. Hotels can also take the receptionist as a monthly service, see the hologram receptionist for hotels.
What it needs on site
One power socket and an internet connection. The Holobox is plug and play and works in ordinary indoor light, daylight included, because it pairs a transparent LCD with a custom-engineered light box instead of projecting onto glass or mist.
Talk to one before you decide
A photo does not show what it is like to be greeted by an AI human. Book a demo at the Culemborg studio and talk to one.
